Grand Case Beach Club, an attractive hotel/condo complex of 78 rooms located at the waters edge, is just a five minute walk from the small village of Grand Case. All rooms have kitchens and terraces. LOCAL ATTRACTIONS:
There is a picturesque market with colorful displays of tropical fruit every Wednesday and Friday in Marigot, the main town on the French side of the island.
ACCESS TO BEACH:
Through the hotel grounds there is access to the beach. Parking is provided for hotel guests only. Grand Case beach runs for quite a long way. Access is available from the middle of the town of Grand Case as well.
QUALITY OF BEACH:
An large rock outcropping separates the two stretches of beach in the front of the hotel. The area to the north of the headland is a short but serene section with built-in thatch umbrellas dotting the sand and reserved for hotel guests. The long stretch to the south is quite narrow and meanders into the town of Grand Case.
ADDITIONAL COMMENTS:
The quaint village and buildings of Grand Case still retain some colonial French charm. The main street is narrow and usually clogged with cars. BBQ restaurants line the main street in Grand Case while around the back many of these eateries open to an ocean view - impressive especially for a beautiful sunset dining experience. On an island that is famous for expensive French cuisine, the fare at these downscale (but fun!) BBQ eateries is strictly Caribbean in flavor, usually delicious and easy on the pocketbook.
